Google Voice Search learns new languages

With Voice Search a key component of Google's search strategy, the company announced Thursday that it now works with three other languages besides English.

Google Voice Search, part of the Google Search app for Android and iOS, can now respond to many queries in French, German, and Japanese in the language that they were originally asked.
Google did not immediately respond to questions about what languages are planned next, or why these three languages were chosen. However, given how many people speak Hindi, Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese, it would stand to reason that they would be high on Google's list for upcoming support.

Google, Microsoft offer different methods for tracking Santa

It's that time of year, when Google helps little ones around the world track Santa. This year, instead of only tracking Kris Kringle on Christmas Eve, Google is giving you a different glimpse into what's occurring at the North Pole every day leading up to Christmas.
The announcement from Google came courtesy of a post on its Google Maps blog early Wednesday. With a countdown timer at the top of the page, you're able to view familiar Google Maps pins for each day leading up to Santa's busiest day of the year, and see prep work being done by his elves and reindeer.

Later in the month (mid-December according to the post), Google plans on releasing an Android app to help you keep tabs on preparations and track St. Nick on Christmas Eve. Also included in the app will be a couple of games and the ability to explore the North Pole and watch Santa's progress on your TV using Chromecast. There's also a Santa Tracker Chrome extension available.
In addition, Microsoft has teamed up with NORAD this year, aiming to highlight Internet Explorer 11 while also helping you track Santa. Starting on Christmas Eve, as NORAD begins tracking Santa, those using IE11 on a touch device will be able to view his progress across the world in a 3D globe.
NORAD is the expert when it comes to tracking Santa, having previously partnered with Google to incorporate the data of where Santa into Google Maps. We had the privilege of going behind the scenes a few years back to see how the team inside the mountain tracks Santa.

How to Add a Gadgets to Blogger

Widgets, also known as gadgets, are small tools or applications that can be added to a website or blog to enhance its content or functions, or to pull content and services from third-party websites. Widgets come in multiple forms, such as countdown tickers, photos, games, or interactive social media applications that allow you to chat. Some widgets in Blogger serve the purpose of enhancing your blog, such as listing your blog followers or allowing readers to subscribe to your blog content. Here are steps on how to add a widget to Blogger.

1
Log in to your Blogger account with your username and password. Once you are logged in, make sure you are at your Blogger's Dashboard, otherwise click on the "Dashboard" link, which will take you to a list of your blogs.

2
Access the Layout page of your blog. After selecting your blog, click on the "Design" link, which will take you to the Layout page. Click on the "Page Elements" link, then click on "Add a Gadget."

3
Choose a widget or gadget. A Blogger pop-up window will appear that lists all the gadgets available to you through Google Blogger. You may search for the name of a specific gadget, or you can browse through several categories, including Basic gadgets, Featured gadgets, Most Popular gadgets or More Gadgets, which are contributed by third-party developers for Blogger.

4
Add the widget to Blogger. Once you find the widget you want to add, click on the blue plus sign symbol to add it to your blog's layout. On the Layout screen, you will be able to click and drag the widget to where you want it to appear on your blog.
  • Save your changes. Once you have added the widgets you want to your layout, click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the Layout screen to save your changes to Blogger.

5
Add a custom widget to Blogger using the HTML and JavaScript widget. The HTML and JavaScript widget within Blogger is a blank widget that allows you to add or paste third-party functionality or other code to your blog. The HTML and JavaScript widget can be found by clicking on "Add a Gadget" from the Blogger Layout screen.

How to download your Google Calendar appointments

Need to back up or export your Google Calendar appointments? You can now download them directly from Google.
As of Thursday, Google offers you the ability to save a zip file of your Google Calendar data, either all of your calendars or just select ones if you juggle multiple calendars. The process takes a few steps but is relatively straightforward.
Log into Gmail. Click on your account picture in the upper right corner, and select the link for Account. On the Accounts page, click on the link to Download your data and then click on the button to Create an archive.

Google displays a list of all the services available for export. Assuming you're not opting for the entire batch, deselect the ones you don't want and make sure Calendar is selected. Click on the Edit button next to Calendar to include all calendars or only certain ones. Click on the Done button and then click on the Create Archive button.
Google preps your archive as a zip file. Click on the Download button. Re-enter your Google password if prompted. Now save the file to your hard drive. Extracting the zip file reveals several folders, including one for your appointments and one for your profile photos. Your appointments are formatted as an ICS file, which you can save as a backup or import into Yahoo, Outlook, iCalendar, and similar services.
In a blog posted Thursday, Google software engineer Nick Piepmeier said the same backup feature will roll out for Gmail over the next month. You can also download your Google data from Google Contacts, Google+, YouTube, Google Drive, and other services.

YouTube's music service will be delay until next year

Music fans will apparently have to wait until next year to finally give YouTube's much-rumored streaming music service a spin.
Originally expected to debut this past summer, the launch of the subscription service was reportedly pushed back to the end of the year. Now it appears the service won't appear until the first quarter of 2014, people described as familiar with the company's plans tell AllThingsD.
Although not yet officially announced by Google, the music service is said to resemble the platform employed by Spotify but with videos. And, like Pandora, it's said to have both a free version and a paid premium version that will give users unlimited access to albums and artists. Unlimited access is expected to cost consumers $10 a month and include access to ad-free music, as well as offline storage.

Strings of code recently uncovered in YouTube's new Android app, YouTube 5.3, suggest that Google is prepping an ad-free music subscription service called "Music Pass." Among the features reportedly revealed in the code are offline access to music and video and the ability to play music in the background while using other apps.
While Google has reportedly closed all the music licensing deals necessary to get the service going, the company is said to not be satisfied with the product itself, AllThingsD reports.
Google already has a monthly music-subscription service, called Google Play Music All Access, although it's possible that will be folded into a YouTube offering at some point.

YouTube toughens checks on comments to beat scams

Google has acted to tackle abuses of YouTube's comments system that were made possible by it tying the posts to its Google+ social network.
The firm said it had taken steps to improve recognition of "bad links" and detection of Ascii art - drawings created out of punctuation and other characters.
The inclusion of web addresses and art in YouTube posts only became possible after the switchover.
Using Google+ has proved controversial.

An online petition has raised more than 216,000 signatures calling for the comments section to return to its original form.
It objects to the fact that tying YouTube to Google+ makes it harder to stay anonymous since members of the social network are supposed to provide their real first and last names.
That change was intended to combat spam, which the US firm said had "plagued" YouTube for years.
However, some users have complained that by allowing links and art in comments Google had instead exacerbated the problem.
Security blogger Graham Cluley wrote that by allowing links the firm had made it "easier than ever for spammers, make-money-fast-scammers and malware-spreaders to get airtime".
Meanwhile, the Ars Technica news site reported on the rise of what it called "comment pornographers" - people who post pictures of genitalia made out of dots, dashes and other symbols.
One of YouTube's most popular members, Swedish video game commentator Felix Kjellberg, had been one of those who had temporarily blocked comments on new videos as a consequence.
"Front page/top comments are filled with links to virus sites, advertisers, self-advertisers, spam, [and] copy-and-paste pics," the clip-maker known as PewDiePie wrote.

Google said it had now changed the way long comments were displayed, making it harder to show drawings, and promised to offer video creators more control over their viewers' posts.
"Bulk moderation has been a long standing creator request and we'll be releasing tools for that soon," it said. "At the same time, we're also working on improving comment ranking and moderation of old-style comments."
One company watcher said it was important for the firm to ensure the switchover was a success.
"There is the rationale that it will help drive the adoption of Google+, which I think it is fair to say has struggled against competing social networks," said Richard Broughton from the consultants IHS Screen Digest.
"It will also help with the monetisation of YouTube over the coming years.
"Having information about the people who are consuming the videos - thanks to them being linked to a Google+ account - provides an awful lot of information, which is of use to advertisers.
"But making this scale of change to a network that has more than one billion regular users worldwide will inevitably offend or annoy some of them."

The Story of Blogger Google

Blogger was started by a tiny company in San Francisco called Pyra Labs in August of 1999. This was in the midst of the dot-com boom. But we weren't exactly a VC-funded, party-throwing, foosball-in-the-lobby-playing, free-beer-drinking outfit. (Unless it was other people's free beer.)
We were three friends, funded by doing annoying contract web projects for big companies, trying to make our own grand entrance onto the Internet landscape. What we were originally trying to do doesn't matter so much now. But while doing it, we created Blogger, more or less on a whim, and thought — Hmmm... that's kinda interesting.

Blogger took off, in a small way, and eventually a bigger way, over a couple years. We raised a little money (but stayed small). And then the bust happened, and we ran out of money, and our fun little journey got less fun. We narrowly survived, not all in one piece, but kept the service going the whole time (most days) and started building it back up.
Things were going well again in 2002. We had hundreds of thousands of users, though still just a few people. And then something no one expected happened: Google wanted to buy us. Yes, that Google.
We liked Google a lot. And they liked blogs. So we were amenable to the idea. And it worked out nicely.
Now we're a small (but slightly bigger than before) team in Google focusing on helping people have their own voice on the web and organizing the world's information from the personal perspective. Which has pretty much always been our whole deal.
For more on Google, check google.com. (Also good for searching.)

10 Tips and Tricks For Youtube

1. Get Social With Connected Sharing Options

You can share YouTube content without hooking up your other social networking accounts, but if you do, the process gets all (buzzword alert!) "frictionless."
As you upload, comment, favorite or like a video, these actions will be broadcast to your Facebook and Twitter accounts for your friends and followers to see.
To manage these options, click on your username at the top right of YouTube, then "Settings," then "Sharing."

2. Search in Different Languages

YouTube offers an on-screen keyboard for foreign languages.
This is useful as it means anyone can look for specific foreign language content from any PC — regardless of the physical keyboard's layout.
To type search queries in Arabic, Greek, Russian, Thai (and more) you need to first change your language settings to your preferred lingo.
Scroll right down to the bottom of the screen and click on the language drop-down menu.
Once you've selected a language with special characters, a little keyboard icon will appear in the YouTube search bar. Click it to get started.

3. Change the Size and Resolution of Videos

In addition to the "full screen" option, YouTube now offers a viewing window that's larger than the standard size, but does not fill the screen.
If clips aren't good enough resolution to look decent at full screen, or if you need to keep an eye on other windows or programs, you can select the mid-size viewing option on the bottom right of the video window.
Resolution can be adjusted by hitting the resolution count (360p, 480p, etc) also on the bottom right.
In addition, you can change your account settings to always play HD when switching to full screen. To set this up, go to "Playback Setup" under the "Settings" menu.

4. Save Videos to Watch Later

If you think your job might be at risk if your boss catches you watching one more kitty vid, you can save content to watch later.
You can find this option on the main YouTube site under the "Add to" icon just under the video window.
On embedded videos, the "Watch Later" button appears as a plus sign on the menu bar at the bottom.
To view your "Watch Later" list, select "Video Manager" from the menu that appears when you click on your username.

5. Manage Your History

Whether you want to find a video you recently watched or delete something you shouldn't have, YouTube offers you "My Viewing History."
You can find this under "Video Manager" once you click on your username icon at the top right of the screen.
From here, you can add them to your "Favorites," your "Watch Later" list or your playlists, as well as delete videos you've watched.

6. Speed Up With Keyboard Shortcuts

YouTube offers several useful keyboard shortcuts that are worth taking the time to get familiar with.
When you are watching a video, click on it and you can then use the spacebar as a pause/play button.
The left and right arrows work as rewind and fast forward shortcut keys, while the up and down arrows will control the volume.
Home and end are also handy shortcuts — home takes you back to the beginning of a video while end does the opposite.

7. "Leanback" and Enjoy

YouTube's "Leanback" functionality was introduced to make it easier to browse content on connected TVs, but there's no reason you can't use it on your computer.
You can seamlessly browse your playlists as well as recommendations and featured videos. In addition, you can browse channels and enjoy instant search.
The best thing of all is Leanback's chic, dark looks — it's a much better looking way of browsing than the traditional site.

8. Get Better at Search

YouTube's search operators are fairly straightforward, but it's good to remind yourself of the key terms to use.
In addition to the usual "quotations marks" to search for a specific term, plus or minus signs to include or omit results and the use of "INTITLE:term" to ensure the word you're looking for appears in the video's title, there are some YouTube-specific terms to note.
Adding "HD" to your search query will return high-def results while "3D" does the same for three-dimensional content.
Typing "today," "this week" or "this month" helps you narrow down more recent content.
Adding "channels" or "playlists" to your search query returns such results.
Finally, "long" and "short" looks for videos over 20 minutes and less than four minutes.

9. Customize Your Captions

If you use YouTube captions, did you know you can customize them?
You can change the default font, foreground and background colors and make them larger or smaller.
To change your captions settings when viewing a video, click on the "CC" icon, then choose "Settings."

10. Have Fun With "YouTube Slam"

Finally, we've a fun one for you. "YouTube Slam" is a YouTube TestTube game that lets you rate similarly themed videos in a hot-or-not style.
To get started, scroll down to the bottom of any YouTube page, click "Try something new!" and then select "YouTube Slam."
You can now play "Comedy Slam," "Bizarre Slam," or our favorite — "Cute Slam." Enjoy!

Can You Really Make Money with Google AdSense?

Yes, but if you want to make really good money with Google AdSense, you either have to have a ton of traffic or you have to be in a unique niche in which advertisers will pay a lot for clicks on their ads.

Google AdSense with niche sites

Finding those unique niches takes a bit of keyword research and usually doesn't happen by accident. There are many people in the business of hunting for these high-paying niches, creating websites strictly for the purpose of capitalizing on valuable keywords and making a lot of money in the process. If you want to see a real life example of building a site like this, check out Pat Flynn's very interesting series, Niche Site Duel.
There are tools to help you find great keywords. A free and popular tool for keyword research is the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. Court gave an overview of how to use it at the end of the video in this post.
A more robust tool for keyword research is Market Samurai. If you want to see how it works, check out their very informative tutorial videos.

Google AdSense with high traffic

For those of us blogging in niches without valuable keywords, high traffic is the key to making good money with AdSense. I know plenty of bloggers making hundreds (and in many cases thousands) of dollars every month with AdSense.
In my case, as of this writing I don't have my main AdSense ads up (I'm always experimenting you know). However, before I took them down, I was making several hundred dollars a month. My highest AdSense payout was $640.89 (April 2012). Otherwise my monthly payments in 2012 have hovered in the $400 range.
But that's just peanuts compared to many.
I recently bought Laurie Turk's online course called Mom Blog to Money Blog. Laurie gets 7 million pageviews a month on her craft blog (TipJunkie.com) and makes over $12,000 a month from Google AdSense alone.*
Another excellent (and free) resource to learn the ins and outs of Google AdSense is TentBlogger's A Blogger’s Guide to Earning More with Google Adsense series. If you're interested in getting more details about AdSense, this is a great place to start. Free is always nice.

Takeaways

There are no magic bullets. What works for one person won't necessarily work for another and vice versa. There are no guaranteed, across-the-board results either.
Google AdSense works well for some and not so well for others. It really depends.
If you're just starting to monetize your blog, I still think the best way to figure out what might work for you is to look at well-established bloggers in your niche and take note of the monetization methods they use. Start there.
But don't limit yourself either. Always experiment. Don't be afraid to try new things. And aim for a diverse number of income streams.
*If you're interested in Mom Blog to Money Blog, I definitely recommend you start a website first (I will shamelessly plug my How to Start a Blog series here) and only consider taking her course once you gain some good traction. Her course is definitely more suited to someone who has been blogging for a while and has a solid understanding of blogging basics. I believe the coupon code MONEY will still give you a 10% discount. Remember, she's been blogging since 2007 so she's been at it a while. Also, 7 million pageviews a month would be really, really hard to duplicate for the vast majority of us so our results are likely to vary drastically.

Protect your Adsense Account : Bad Clicks and Invalid Activity

Have you ever wondered how Google actually generates an income? It has a very large network of ads, with which it earns and also shares some revenue with publishers (people who put up AdSense ads on their websites). It's a very elaborate system, with Advertisers trusting Google, and investing their money with it in order to grow their own exposure. Google then shares some of that revenue with the publishers. Now it naturally follows, that Google has to make provisions to maintain the trust of its advertisers, and for that, it has to ensure that publishers don't cheat, or use fraudulant methods of clicking on ads to glean more money out of advertisers. Such bad clicks might result in the ban of your AdSense account. So what can you do to prevent such a thing from happening, even if you're not creating any mischief on your side?

Unfortunately, this happens to the best of us. You can't always control invalid click activity on your blog. Indeed, there are some bad fish out there who feel jealous or threatened from other blogs, so they perform invalid click activity in spite. In this way, even good publishers might come under the spotlight, let alone bad publishers who get banned outright.

If you were in Google's position, you would see how bad clicks are against the best interests of Advertisers, and ultimately those of Google. Advertisers wouldn't like it if they had to pay extra for clicks that didn't really help them. So Google has some tools that keep bad traffic and bad sites out of their network. Unfortunately, these tools can't tell when you're a good publisher who is just subjected to unknown bad-click activity. So to solve this problem, here are some changes Google is making that you might find helpful.

 Trusted publishers

Google will now be considering tenure more actively in response to detected invalid activity. If you are a good publisher, and don't have a notorious history, Google will just suspend your account, instead of terminating it. So you should always try to keep it on the safe side of Google. Also, Google is working on a new system wherein it will work more closely with publishers to ensure that they don't even face the inconvenience of getting their accounts disabled, provided that they are trusted publishers.

Activity reports

Google also will send you emails and notifications in case invalid activity is detected. It will let you know about the type of activity, so that you can get to root of the problem. It will also provide you further instructions on getting rid of the invalid activity. So keep checking your email at a regular basis.

Support

Google is now providing publishers with tools to help them submit appeals. The new forms let them tell Google about their plight in more detail, and provide more information. This would hopefully improve the process of submitting appeals and reconsideration requests to Google.
Google has also launched an expanded AdSense Academy, which will detail beginners and pros alike on the do's and don'ts of AdSense. In addition, Google is starting a video series that will explain AdSense policies, and discuss best practises.
We're really looking forward to seeing these changes being implemented, and we'll keep you updated on the latest happenings in this regard. Stay tuned, and keep reading :)

Check your AdSense Earning Reports inside YouTube Analytics!

Are you a registered YuuTube partner, or aspiring to be one? YouTube Partners are high earners who make a living out of their passion for creating videos. And some are pretty good at it too. Thousands of people are now capitalizing over this opportunity. For them, the AdSense and YouTube teams want to make things easier, since a lot of them are giving feedback. And Google listens to feedback. So to make things easier, YouTube has now integrated your AdSense earnings right into its analytics, which means that you can now check your AdSense earnings from your Videos from inside YouTube analytics!

Previously, AdSense for Content Host earnings for partners were calculated and displayed inside the AdSense accounts. Now for a blogger (using Google Blogger or something), this might not have been a problem. But YouTubers don't especially like to go all the way to AdSense t check out their earnings, especially if the only source of their revenue is YouTube. Now though, with this latest update, such people can view their earnings without leaving YouTube!

YouTube Analytics

YouTube Analytics will now display accurate and consistent performance data for your videos. This won't change the way you are paid. You will still be paid via AdSense, and will see monthly earnings and other data you see on AdSense. The difference now is, you will get more comprehensive details about the sources of income for your videos.
The timeliness of earnings reporting has been improved to 24 hours after the end of the day, but you can still see page views and clicks. You can also review ads and manage ad blocking for your videos, just like in AdSense.
For YouTube partners, there are two major forms of income. Auction-sold ads, and reserve-sold ads. The auction-sold ads went to AdSense earnings before, and reserve-spot ads went to YouTube earnings. Both AdSense and YouTube reported their own respective earnings. But now, all earnings related to your videos have been integrated into YouTube to form a more streamlined feature which will help you keep track of your total earnings and your video performance better.
This new feature is aimed at reducing confusion, and helping YouTube partners grow by making things simpler for them, leaving them to focus on their video performance. Are you a YouTube partner? How do you like this new change? Leave your interesting comments below. And feel free to ask any question too.
A humble request: Please try to stay interactive when you post your comments, and avoid promoting your respective blogs and/or websites. We respect your right to advertise yourself, but our aim is to build an interactive community, where people interact with each other, rather than promoting their respective web domains. And please, also avoid the cheesy and artistic signatures, as they can be considered akin to spamming. Please also understand that this request comes from the fact that we want to respond to every comment or question you might ask. And if you spam and leave out cheesy comments just for the purpose of promoting yourself, then this hinders the conversation process. Hoping for your co-operation. Thank you :)

Similarly, if your friend borrows money through this site, then again you stand to earn £50 as commission for referring the friend. All you have to do is to register yourself as soon as possible and then start earning the money!

2. Earn money to solve problems of companies online

There are many companies that spend a lot of money to solve their problems. If you have a lot of spare time on your hands, then you can try to solve these problems. These may not be simple problems and you need to have the skills to solve these effectively to earn money. If you have the required skills, then you will be able to make a lot of money through your effort.
The problems faced by the companies can range from electrical to mechanical and also medical. Nanotechnology, virtual reality and designing are some of the problems faced frequently by the newer companies. If you are skilled, then you can earn more than your regular full time job just by solving these problems and earning a part time income from this.
InnoCentive.com is a company that has hundreds of problems that are posted which need people to solve them. These technical solutions are paid for if the solution provided is excellent. As an example, you would be happy to learn that you can be paid an amount of is £20,000 if you have a solution to reduce the sugar used in bakery products, without compromising on the taste of these foods. Another site IdeaConnection.com sends you e mails which have problems that need solving in return for money and the cash can be as high as up to $10,000 or more.

3. Build your online store
There are only two worthwhile stores online and these are Ebay and Amazon. There is a lack of quality stores on the internet other than these two biggies. If you have any real stuff that are good to be sold online, then you should probably think of opening your own store on the internet. It does not cost a lot to start your own shop and you can do so at only $6 per month for the hosting needs. You can also buy a cool .com domain at Godaddy for as little as $7.49 for a year!

4.  Online Marketing
Everybody has something to sell, either a service or a product” and you have to be able to sell it. One of the bestselling products on the Internet is the eBook but ironic to say, these books are given out free. So you may ask, what’s the catch? They keep coming back for more.
There are websites that teach you how to write and sell eBoks online. The only cost of producing these books is your time and it tasks your creativity. Join online communities that teach and discuss new trends and secrets on how to write and market your eBooks and in time, you will notice that you have a steady flow of income from selling them. You could make up to $1,000 or more every month from eBook sales.
Another way to cash in on online marketing opportunities is to do product reviews. There are marketers who are ready to pay you for your opinion on their products and depending on how many times people view your page, you could be paid well in reward. Income from this medium is steady and varies with the rating and page viewing.
5. Blogging
According to the Oxford Dictionary, a weblog is a personal website on which an individual records opinions, links to other sites, etc. on a regular basis. it is a craze among Internet users these days and regularly new blogs are springing up on the cyberspace with users getting more creative with blog contents. Topics discussed on blogs are various from books and arts, science, finance, housekeeping, advertising, music, legal copyright-material downloading and opinion on these topics are being updated every now and then.
Internet Entrepreneurs are quickly turning to blog-writing or blogging to direct traffic to websites where their products and services are advertised. Blogging is a very good way to make money on the Internet while writing about the things you love most and people just can’t help but ask how this is done.
One of the principal means of making money using the blog is through adverts but unlike the regular magazine adverts, bloggers use hi-tech tools and wide understanding of Internet-user behaviour to drive traffic to drive users to web pages with adverts on products and services which they might need and be willing to pay for. Google Adsense is a good tool for making money on your blog page, other tools you might consider that will prove helpful are SEO (Search Engine Optimization) that uses keywords in your article to drive Internet users to your page.
Some companies ask bloggers to write articles or even whole blogs associated with their company and they will be willing to pay for such articles. A blog on beverages or cars is likely to be flooded with articles and adverts on beverage drinks and cars simultaneously. Some other blogs earn cash by linking with affiliate programs. Blog readers may even donate money to blogs if they find them interesting. You must post regularly to sustain the interest of readers to keep the visits steady and faithful and other bloggers can advertise on your page to also direct readers from your page to theirs but they have to pay to post links on your blog page.
A quality blog site costs money to set up but you can equally open a blog for free with some online hosts that don’t charge you for hosting your blog e.g. blogpost.com. Examples of online host that might ask for money to set up a more appealing blog page include hostmonster.com and inmotion.com.
If you don’t have the tenacity to write or sustain the theme (if it must have one) of your blog, there are one of write-ups that you can do – articles on any topic of interest and move on to another. The best part of it is that you get paid for doing this. There are websites that will pay you for articles you write on their web pages. A few of these websites, I might suggest are hubpages.com, eHow.com, mylot.com, they have been known to pay; the greater the traffic to your articles, the greater your chances of attracting marketers’ interest in advertising on your pages.
6. Make money buying and selling domain names
There are many different types of internet entrepreneurs. There are people who will be able to  buy and sell various kinds of products on the internet. There are other people who will be able to design and sell products through the internet.
On the other hand, one of the more lucrative business methods that is catching the imagination of people is the purchase and selling of domain names. There are different domain extensions available.
Just imagine what Google.com will be willing to pay if you have and own a domain name like google.org or even goggle.com? All these are highly valuable because Google will want all the traffic in these misspelt names and also from different extensions to go to their regular site. So, Google will be willing to pay a hefty sum for the domain names.
Similarly, you can also try to get the domain names that are likely to become popular soon. This will help you to make a lot of money which a company will be willing to pay you so that they will be able to get domain names that are suited for them. Other than companies, you can even buy
domain names of new trends in the market, new products that are likely to be a hit and many other related things. If you are able to do some basic research, you will be able to reap rich rewards.
7. Other ways to earn cash online include:
  1. Sell your professional expertise online by starting a membership site where people can pay you to employ your service and gain access to exclusive information. You can collect the membership fee every month. It is easier to dedicate such a website to something you are passionate about.
  2. Data entry Jobs: You can be paid to enter data for some marketers or clients who are overwhelmed with demand for information provided on a database. This doesn’t involve much expertise except your time and precision.
  3. Print-on-Demand Publishing: There are self-publishing companies that publish books based on a print on demand agreement. All you do is to pay the company a one-time to print and promote your book on websites on the web space. The publisher then pays you for online sales periodically. An example of this sort of company is  iUniverse

There are ample opportunities for people to earn some income on the Internet  but sometimes it requires creativity and enterprise.

How To Become a Google AdSense Partner?

How many of you use Google AdSense as one of the, if not the only, monetization solutions for your site? I think I'm getting an overwhelming nod of affirmation. The fact is, Google AdSense has been the choice of almost every blogger and website owner at least once during the course of their online venture. And countless consultants and service providers have sprung up who have built their businesses with AdSense, and now help publishers succeed with AdSense. To help such successful service providers and publishers and to recognize their AdSense expertise, Google has launched the Google AdSense Certified Partner Program!

 Certified AdSense Partners

Certified AdSense Partners are qualified professionals who are certified by Google to offer help and services to other AdSense publishers regarding their businesses. These partners have to meet rigorous qualification requirements, and are carefully selected by Google. At the time of this writing, as many as 13 professionals have been certified since the launch of this program, and more are going to be certified in the coming weeks.
AdSense Certified Partners set up, optimize and maintain AdSense accounts for their clients. They're required to demonstrate product knowledge by completing a certification examination, and their purpose is to help website owners to monetize content effectively with Google AdSense.

Benefits for partners

So what do professionals have to gain by joining this program? Well, as a start, they will be listed officially on the program's website (with a backlink!), and they will be given a program logo of their own. Besides, they will;
  • Benefit from Google AdSense training and the usage of the Google AdSense Certified Partner badge in their marketing collateral.
  • Be able to establish a relationship with the Google AdSense team and receive insights into the latest features.
  • Get access to marketing resources and tools to help them manage client accounts, and will join a group of accredited companies
  • And a lot more!

Requirements

The requirements for this program are tough, but the benefits are manifold. You can view the full list of requirements here, and you must follow all of them in order to get access to the AdSense Certified Program.
If you’re a prospective Certified Partner or a publisher interested in the services offered by these Certified Partners, you can visit the program website or Google Help Center for more information.

All the best :)

AdSense for Smartphone

Since the rapid growth of the mobile web, optimizing your website for mobile devices has become more of a necessity. You can tap a lot of your website's potential by going mobile. We recently discussed some best ways to optimize your website for various mobile devices. Each method has its advantages, but given the type of your audience, one of them might be more suited for your website than others. In this post, we'll talk about how you can monetize your mobile solution to generate income.

 Google Monetization Solutions

So, which Google product is used for mobile monetization?

Google AdSense is the most popular monetization solution, and not just for desktop, but for mobile sites as well. You might have also heard about AdMob, which is the Google product for monetizing mobile apps. For mobile sites, you have AdSense For Content (AFC), and Custom Search Ads (CSA), both of which are implemented within your existing Google AdSense accounts, and aren't separate products.

Previously, when feature phone were the norm, sites were optimized for slow WAP connections. The solution for them was the simple AdSense for Mobile. These websites still exist, and so does the old solution. However, if you're targeting the higher-end devices such as iPhone, Android smartphones, you'll simply have to use the standard AFC ad units that fit your mobile site.

For AFC ad units, you use the same codes for your mobile site that you normally use with your desktop site. You'll just have to select ad sized that are specially designed, and optimized for displaying on mobile devices. For example, check out the image below, where the selected ad-size is is '320 x 50' pixels - a size you don't normally use with desktop sites.

Update Google AdSense Payments and Account Settings

If you've been actively following your AdSense progress lately, then you will have noticed that Google has made quite a few changes in the Payments and Accounts Settings pages in your account. This is because Google has made efforts to improve its Payments systems, which are now more flexible, and offer a lot more benefits to the users. This initiative comes right after Google's plan to update the Terms of Service for all products under Google.

Quite a few changes can be seen on the redesigned Payments summary and settings pages. Most apparent are the changes in the interface options, which have been mostly renamed. For example, 'Payment method' is now called 'Form of Payment' etc.
You can also see a completely redesigned transaction history table that shows you the latest activities at the top.A new toolbar support has been added as well, which allows you to filter, print, export, or download transaction information.

More flexibility

With these new changes, Google aims to improve its Payments systems, which are now more flexible, and offer a lot more benefits to the users. Unlike before, you now have a new extended timeline. This allows you to change your payment information until the 20th of any month. So if you change your mind at the last minute, and want to receive payments through another way, you have more time now than you previously had.
Based on your reporting currency, you can now choose any payment threshold greater than the default payment threshold. You can also hold your payments until a specified date, and choose to be paid later
The navigation of the payments interface has been improved as well. You now have centralized locations to manage your Payment settings and Payee profile. Additionally, contextual help is displayed based on the pages you navigate to.

Going forward, all new earnings and future payments will appear on the new "Payments" page. You can find details for prior earnings and payments we've previously sent by following the link to "previous payments" at the bottom of the new "Payments" page.
